Life in CU
MY TIME IN COVENANT UNIVERSITY
BY ODUBAJO DEBORAH TOLUWANIYIN 2300134
The first time I saw Covenant university was during my CUSAS, my parents had told me what a wonderful university Covenant is and how I should go here. I wasn't really interested, but as I entered the school, I liked the school environment. it had a peaceful atmosphere with trees and everything. I also saw their well-equipped facilities. After this I changed my mind a bit about the school.
It was time to resume, I still had mixed feelings about coming here. I arrived early around 6 AM to my hall of residence which is Esther Hall. I was one of the first people to arrive. We waited a while before we were attended to. The hall porters came and i got my bags searched and did my biometrics. Then I started moving my things to my room. My room was so dusty when I entered, I had to start cleaning before i could arrange my things. My roommates arrived and were very nice people. My first night in CU was okay nothing really happened.
The next day was Sunday service which was the first church service I attended in this school. We were told to be seated 15 minutes before the allotted time and other chapel rules. The preaching was impactful and the praise and worship was fire. I bought my first meal in the cafeteria, and it was delicious. Afterwards I went to do my medicals at medical centre. It was so stressful but thank God i fished that day.
The freshman orientation started on Tueasday. We had different speakers each day educating us on diffrent aspects of the school and the rules of the school. It was very enlightening and informative, but a tad boring. I meet new people during this period, so I got to make new friends. I hope to spend a wonderful Alpha semester in this school.
